How do I create icon libraries?

Icon libraries are useful icon storage files. GConvert can easily create them as explained below:

To create a brand new icon library:

  1. Open the first icon file (.ico) that you would like to add to your icon library.
  2. click the "Library|Convert Current File to Icon Library" menu command.
  3. Then enter the filename of your output icon library and press OK.
  4. Add the remaining icons to your library using the "Library|Add Icon(s)..." menu command: in the shell open dialog box, select the icon file(s) to be added to your library and press OK.
  5. Select "Library|Save changes back to Library File" in order to save the library to the hard disk.

To convert an existing icon source file to an icon library:

  1. Open the file containing icons that you would like to convert into an icon library. This can be an executable, a DLL or even a Zip archive.
  2. click the "Library|Convert Current File to Icon Library" menu command.
  3. Then enter the filename of your output icon library and press OK.
  4. Follow the same steps as above to add icons.
